A leading European private equity investment platform is seeking a Private Equity Director to join its Luxembourg office.
The firm partners with founders, family-owned businesses, and institutional shareholders on control buyouts, growth capital, succession transactions, and strategic exits across Europe’s major financial centers.
This role provides leadership across deal origination, investment committee approvals, acquisition execution, portfolio governance, refinancing strategy, and exit planning.
The successful candidate will work closely with Partners, operating teams, lenders, legal advisors, and portfolio CEOs on complex cross-border investments and value creation initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Lead origination and execution of mid-market buyout transactions
• Drive investment committee approvals and internal deal theses
• Oversee LBO structuring, financing, and refinancing processes
• Lead portfolio company board interactions and governance matters
• Supervise value creation plans and strategic bolt-on acquisitions
• Manage exit readiness, sponsor dialogues, and sale processes
• Mentor Vice Presidents, Associates, and deal teams
• Build relationships with founders, advisors, and intermediaries across Europe
Requirements
• 8-12 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or principal investing
• Strong leadership across buy-side transactions and portfolio governance
• Advanced LBO, returns, and capital structure modeling expertise
• Experience working directly with CEOs and board-level stakeholders
• Strong commercial judgment and deal origination capability
• Excellent negotiation and institutional communication skills
• Fluent English required, French strongly preferred
• Proven track record across European mid-market transactions
